 The Financial Crisis got you down, you should fast!? What? I remember asking Dick Gregory what is the secret for running a successful business. He stated fast, pray and meditate. I was taken aback. What did this have to do with being successful in business?  After successfully completing a 21 day fast, I understand  how fasting can help the Diva in you, too.

The Wise Diva- Spiritual food for thought is all that you need when you are in a crisis of any kind. By abstaining from food, you can focus on God/the Universe for you source of nutrients.  Use the time to fasting for praying and meditating on Divine inspiration to help you with your life/business circumstances. Eating can be a major distraction and we tend to eat poorly when we are under emotional stress. Fasting will solve this problem. Fasting will rid the spirit,mind and emotions of toxic thoughts, feeling and emotions. It will recharge the Chakras( Energy centers of the body) and improve the vibrational forces of love. Fast to bring awareness to a causes.  I fasted to bring awareness and support for the homeless Divas, Divas on welfare, and Divas in violent relationships.

The Healthy Diva- The health benefits of  vegetable and juice fast are numerous. Fasting allows your body to rid itself of toxic material by speeding up the detoxification  process. The less your body has to waste on processing solid food, the more time it can spend on healing and cleansing the body. Fasting has been know to heal illnesses, halt the aging process, and energize Divas.

The Wealth Diva: Wealth is a state of mind. Fasting will give way for the wealthy Diva to spend quaility time on thinking about invigorating ideas, situations and circumstances that will bring more abundance in your life. While fasting, you feel in control of your body and that carries over to feeling and thinking you are in control of your life. Food tends to get in the way of creativity because one tends to eat poorly under stressful situations which encourages sickness. Sickness impairs thinking, reasoning, logic and can be emotionally draining. On the other hand, a healthy Diva can produce more wealth in their life.

I understand many of you Divas are thinking that you can not fast for 21 hours let alone 21 days. No, I am not suggesting you try my feat. You may want to do a one day fast. And see the benefits of fasting , praying and meditating will have on your life.

By fasting, I developed a greater love and trust for the Diva within; I have come up with some great new business ideas that will make me more money; I was invited to speak at www.blackmillionairesummit; I did several interviews; I made many more new friends and associates;and I lost my pregnancy belly of three years! I look young, healthy, fabulous and prosperous.

Dear Diva:

Wow! I am a proud Hurricane Ike victor! Well, as the old adage states,do not mess with Mother Nature. The Wise Diva came to the rescue. This was not a time to panic, but a time to bring out ones spiritual tools.  

“Soul”ution-take all Hurricane preparations and put them in place. Then,pray, meditate and visualize a safe, secure and protective shield that surrounds you and your family. Lastly, Trust that the Universe will provide you with your request.

Result: My boys and I slepted like babies and felt very confident that everything was going to be alright. A awoke to a very
mild hurricane or so I thought. My house was fine. The trees were still standing, but the power was out. I could live without power since I and my children were safe and sound. Moreover, I had no damage to my home or personal belongings. We survive and thrived after Hurricane Ike!

But as a scanned the neighborhood, I could not say the same for a lot of my neighbors in the exclusive community I live in. It looked like a war zone and I realized that prayers do work! Tons of behemoth trees were uprooted and inside peoples homes. Roof tiles were everywhere. Fences were knocked down and brick borders were destroyed. I was amazed at how fortune my family and I were.

We did not experience anything close to the devastation in Galveston, Texas. And all of our prayers and financial support goes out to our fellow Texans who experienced so much more damage personally and professionally. We will continue to pray for them and wish them a speedy recovery.

So, if you are ever in a Hurricane, do your best to follow every protocol in place but moreover, take it to a higher power and trust that divine will be done.

Will “The Dynamic Diva” have dinner with Barack Obama? The answer remains to be seen. I entered a friendly donation campaign to have dinner with Obama in order to discuss further the issues I want him to address while in office.

I think they are issues that may touch your heart, too, as women and moms.

So, I decided to share my entry story with you to spark your reasons for want you want the next President of the United States to address while they are in office. We do want change and we want it right away. This country needs a major healing after 5 long years in war and economic hardship. 

Here is my entry story:

 I grew up with a single mom on welfare and 25 years later found myself as a college educated, homeless mom at a woman’s shelter for battered women in Placer County. Within 1 1/2 years, I became a millionaire investing in real estate. I am living the American Dream while so many of my fellow Americans (women in particular)are living the American nightmare-foreclosed homes, recession, college education sky-rocketing, and no universal healthcare.

It was funding of government programs for housing, education, health and wellness that helped me pull me up from the boot-straps and become a good tax-paying and law-abiding citizen.

I feel that Barack Obama as president, coming from such humble beginnings, will make sure that these government programs will get the funding and support they need to remain active and reinstitute social programs that will allow all of Americans the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If you had the chance to have dinner and discuss what your next president needs to do in office, what would you like him/her to do the first year in office?

K. I. S. S. - Keeping it Simple, Sister.

If we all are really honest with ourselves, we get most of our joy out of life when we live a simple lifestyle: waking up early to watch the sunrise, eating wholesome natural simple foods, spending quality time with the family in the park feeding the ducks, wearing comfortable clothes that allow our body to breathe. You could write a letter to a dear friend you haven’t spoken to in awhile. Praying over dinner with the family and discussing our daily activities can be enjoyable.  And we can volunteer our time for a local community charity. 

All of these enjoyable and fulfilling acts do not cost a lot of money- many are free- but bring to our hearts wealth of peace and tranquility that is priceless.  It makes our life feel “rich” and fulfilling.

I can remember when I was a little child thinking that I came from a wealthy family supported by my single-mom. We had everything my heart desired- a loving happy home. We never wanted for clothes or a meal. We played. We studied hard and got a good education.  And occasionally, we went to McDonalds or played miniature golf with the family.   What more could one want. Little did I know that we were poor and supported by public assistance.

Even so, we did not let our financial circumstances dictate our attitude about life.  Ironically, when we improved our economic status to middle class and started living like “the Jones” our quality of life took a downturn and became more complex.  We had all the trapping of success- cars, homes, vacations, dining out regularly- but we did not have each other.

Society had convinced us that the true show of wealth is the accumulation of a lot of material things—and we bought into it only to realize that it made us spiritually and emotionally destitute.

Diva, lets choose to return to the simple way of life by creating a new spending plan that will be reflective of it. You will find it to be personally gratifying and save you a ton of money because we know that buying more make-up and clothes is not going to bring you more peace of mind nor improve you quality of life.  It will only have you worrying about your next credit card bill and an empty savings account.
